Is this a substitute for therapy or medical care?

No. The Anxiety Field Guide is an educational reference, not personalised clinical advice. It is designed to make you a sharper participant in your own care: it explains the landscape of evidence-based treatments, helps you ask better questions of your clinician, and gives you the foundations and tools to support whatever path you choose with them.

If you are in crisis, the book is not the right tool in that moment. Appendix B lists international crisis lines.

I'm not sure if I have an "anxiety disorder." Will this still help?
